Duke City Bridge Club Fall Bridge Classes

Each 10 week class is only $20., including textbook and instruction. Three levels of instruction are offered.

Absolute Beginners Learn

If you have never played bridge but want to learn this fascinating, challanging game, this is your class!   
Saturday afternoons at 1:00, this class will use Audrey Grant's  Bidding in the 21st Century. The basic
concepts of duplicate bridge are taught, including hand evaluation, bidding (no trump, major and minor
suit openings and responses), trick taking and scoring will be covered.

 

Advancing Beginners' Course

For those who have played some bridge and want to move to the next step, this class will meet Saturdays at 9:30 A.M.
Felix Moore & Jan Evans will teach from Play of the Hand in the 21st Century by Audrey Grant . 
Topics include making a plan, developing tricks, eliminating losers, and managing trumps.

 

Intermediate Lessons

Francie Straw will teach this opportunity for intermediate players to become better defenders.
The class is offered Saturdays at 9:30.  The text is 25 Ways to be a Better Defender.
Studying leads, signals, and discards aids partnership communication and enforces skills in the art of defense.
Lectures are followed by play of the hand, providing practice in the skills discussed. 
Players enjoy this friendly and challenging class.

 

Enjoy new friendships and learn new skills.  Only $20 including textbook and teaching. 
The last session of each class will offer opportunity for supervised play.  Bridge supports active minds!
